Sara J Frantz (b. 1981) is a landscape artist living in the central coast of California. Paintings of hope and want, but also of powerlessness, her process is the result of attempting to balance restraint with excess, or at least to temper over-embellishment with order.

Frantz is a Professor of Studio Art and the Chair of the Art & Design Department at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA.
